R Conservative leader and Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper gestures while delivering a speech during a meeting.Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Monday he is very concerned about the economic situation globally and in the United States, but said Canada’s economic fundamentals have remained solid. “Canada’s not in the same situation as the United States,” he told reporters in Ottawa.
“Our household sector, our government sector, our financial institutions have solid economic fundamentals. The Canadian economy’s fundamentals are solid.”
